How does fuel cell work?
Working principle of Fuel Cell : The conversion from Hydrogen to electricity is through Fuel Cell in fuel cells.
- H2 is oxidized into H+ and e- (electron) under the action of anode catalyst;
- then the H+ goes through the proton exchange membrane to the cathode, and reacts with O2 producing water;
- meanwhile e- gathering in the negative pole (same place as anode) goes to the positive pole through the external circuit, so current is generated continuously
Its performance is comparable to internal combustion engines, better than lithium battery, with a wider range of applications.
